As mentioned before, the menu is highly seasonal and mostly grown on the nearby Dairy Flat Farm. Changing frequently, the menu often includes a range of toasted sandwiches, fresh baguettes, beautiful pizzas, pastries and other baked goods.
If you’re enjoying the beautiful bread and baked goods, no surprise. The bakehouse as Dairy Flat is a fantastic partnership by Alla Wolf-Tasker AM and Michael James, one of the countries best bakers. Bread and other beautiful baked goods are delivered daily (Friday to Tuesday) and available for purchase. If you’re coming for a weekend, we’d highly recommend pre-ordering the Dairy Flat Farm Weekend Bake House Pack. Including a sourdough loaf, baguettes and several beautiful pastries, it is all your need for a weekend in the area. You can pre-order them here.
A range of other produce by Alla Wolf-Tasker AM are also available for purchase at Wombat Hill Cafe under the “A Wolf In The Kitchen” brand, including stunning relishes, jams and olive oil.
Friends of Wombat Hill Botanic Garden Plant Sales
Right next to the Wombat Hill House Cafe is a small plot of land where the Friends of Wombat Hill Botanic Garden host an amazing plant sale. Entirely ran by volunteers, you can purchase potted plants and ask for advice from a group of avid local gardeners. The plant sales is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am until midday.
The botanical gardens are a perfect spot in town for a good walk with the dog and what is better to finish that off with a cup of coffee and fresh pastry. You are more than welcome to bring your pooch for this part and the cafe has a special entrance on the right of the building with direct access to the garden and enclosed patio. As always, dogs are expected to be on the lead while at the cafe.
