Cliffy's Emporium

Named after the Cliffy Hauser’s general store that first opened in the 1950’s, Cliffy’s is now known as one of the best places to brunch while in Daylesford.

Cliffy’s Emporium in Daylesford, or simply Cliffy’s as most locals know it, is located on Raglan Street and just the perfect spot for coffee, weekend brunch or a long lunch with friends.

Inside it still set-up as a general store, paying homage to how Cliffy Hauser started it back in the 1950s. The place oozes with character and shows the best produce regional Victoria has to offer.

During the summer months, enjoy sitting out on the verandah in front or the terrace on the side. Cliffy’s serves some brunch classics like the Cliffy’s Benedict or the Country breakfast along with daily changing baguettes. Our personal favorite is their egg & bacon roll on a turkish roll smothered in cheese.

Cliffy’s is open  Thursday to Monday’s (closed on Tuesday and Wednesday) from 7.30am until 3pm (8am on weekends). Bookings are essential for inside and can be made on their website, usually a couple months in advance. The verandah and terrace are on a walk-in basis open and usually there is a bit of a queue. Don’t let the queue deter you, it usually moves pretty quickly.

Also if you’re looking for takeaway coffee or breakfast, head to the window on the side.

Dog friendly

Cliffy’s Emporium has a lovely verandah and terrace that are dog friendly, and you’ll frequently see lots of pooches there. In winter its a bit more difficult as your dog isn’t able to join you when you sit inside.
