Hotel Bellinzona, Hepburn

A local treasure reimagined by local entrepreneurs. A success story that now offers a fantastic boutique accommodation experience for when you come to the Daylesford region.

Built in 1903, as one of the first guest houses in the Hepburn Springs area and completely renovated by local entrepreneurs Theresa Albioli and Tony De Marco. The Bellinzona hotel reopened in its current stunning splendour in December 2020.

The hotel is located on the main road in Hepburn Springs in easy walking distance to all major restaurants.  Boosting 34 guest room in addition to extensive gardens (a wedding venue dream), a heated indoor pool, meeting & conference rooms as well as two restaurants and the lobby bar. Hotel Bellinzona in Hepburn is one of the local’s favourites and offers truly luxury getaway experience.

The 43 guest rooms offer all services you may require during your stay in Hepburn such as free wifi, tea making facilities, ensuite bathrooms and a minibar. The room categories on offer are split between their hotel rooms and suites. Within the hotel rooms, there are three categories: the Loft rooms, at the top of the building, the Studio, on the ground floor of the building and the Balcony rooms, with french doors opening up to the balcony.

Within the suites, you can choose from the Suites or the Executive Suite. Both are 45 square meter and offer a seperate seating and dining area.

It is no secret that Theresa Albioli and Tony De Marco also own and manage “The Houses Daylesford” with over 70 properties in the area under direct management. One of those is The Amalfi, which is located directly across the road and offers another 20 ensuite hotel rooms.

If you are coming to Hepburn Springs for a bit of R&R, the hotel offers a 12 meter heated indoor pool, spa and sauna, all overlooking the stunning gardens. The Bellinzona Bathhouse is a haven to relax and rejuvenate during your stay in the Daylesford region.

The Oxford Dining Room

The dining room is the hotel’s official restaurant and positions itself as fine dining. While it arguably still has to proof out if it will be accepted by discerning  locals and visitors alike, the restaurant is currently closed due to COVID.

The Lobby Bar

With a blue Scottish tartan carpet and the most comfy brown leather chairs, the Lobby Bar just provides the best place for a glass of local pinot noir or a whiskey on ice next to a warming fire place. We absolute love coming here on a Sunday afternoon for a drink or meet with friends for pre-dinner drinks.

The Virgin

At the ground floor of Hotel Bellinzona is The Virgin, or more often called The Virgin Cafe. A fantastic place for breakfast, brunch and even dinner (check out Virgin Nights). So much so, that we’ve dedicated a seperate entry to it, which you can find here.
