Kyneton Ridge Winery

The Kyneton Ridge Winery is a family owned vineyard just outside of Kyneton, on a 25 minute drive from Daylesford. The vineyard was established in the 1990-ies and purchased by Andrew and Angela Wood in 2019. Since the Wood’s took over the winery has undergone significant refurbishments and additional grape varieties have been planted.

Kyneton Ridge is a true family business with Andrew running the cellar door, Angela the cafe/restaurant and their son Patrick as the main winemaker. This winery is a real gem with some stunning wines and a fantastic atmosphere.

Cellar Door

Andrew Wood leads the cellar door experience at Kyneton Ridge and offers an informal yet informative wine tasting experience. The cellar door is based in the main building that is shared with the restaurant and the actual wine making rooms. Sit down at one of the wine barrels and start your wine tasting. Andrew will talk you through the wide range of Kyneton Ridge wines stating with sparking, whites, rose, red’s and finishing with their beautiful sparking Shiraz.

Cafe & Restaurant

The Ridge Cafe is located just adjacent to the cellar door tasting area and offers a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a bit of food while trying the tasty wines. With a big fire place in the middle of the space, beautiful local art on the wall and a terrace to sit outside when the weather allows, this is the perfect place to soak up the surroundings on a weekend away. The views of the surrounding vines and landscape is a stunning sight to behold.

The food is as beautiful and unpretentious as the location. Pizza’s, cheese platters and mezze platters to share amongst friends and family. The cafe is open until 4pm, so lunch and afternoon snacks only.

The wines

The Kyneton Ridge wines are affordable and definitely punching above their weight, or at least price. Your tasting starts with a non-vintage sparking wine, followed by a beautiful vintage sparking. The whites follow with a beautiful Chardonnay and soon to be Riesling and Rose. The reds that will follow are even better, a stunning Pinot Noir and Shiraz and you will finish with the best, an amazing Sparking Shiraz.

The cellar door is open from 11am until 5pm on weekends and public holidays. For groups, please contact to make a reservation here.

Kyneton Ridge Winery is dog friendly, but only outside as restaurants are not allowed to have dogs inside.
