The Virgin Cafe at Hotel Bellinzona

The Virgin, or more often called The Virgin Cafe is mostly known as an amazing breakfast, brunch and lunch place in town. But actually, it is one of the very few places in the Daylesford and Hepburn that is also open 7 days a week for dinner. This is especially handy if you’re in town on Monday nights, when most other restaurants are closed.

The Virgin occupies the ground floor of the beautiful Bellinzona Hotel in Hepburn, located on the main road in Hepburn Springs, you can’t miss it. The atmosphere inside is bright with an open kitchen and a combination of individual tables and a large shared high bar in the middle. Just the perfect spot for your Sunday morning coffee while you catch up with your newspaper or social media feed. The extensive gardens are just stunning and most Saturdays and Sundays have a great buzz to it.

During the day, The Virgin serves all the brunch and lunch classics but often with a contemporary twist. We love the truffle omelet and the eggs Benedict with deep fried southern-style chicken.

In the evening hours, or as they like to call it “Virgin Nights”, the menu is inspired by local sourced ingredients and the cuisine is contemporary Australian. Think a beautiful pork belly, ricotta & lemon gnocchi or a panfried monkfish.

If you’re not good in making decisions or often suffer from food envy, try the “feed me menu”. A four course shared plate menu, priced at $79 per person where the chef will service you a variety of dishes from their menu.

The Virgin at the Bellinzona Hotel in Hepburn is open 7 days a week from 7am until late. No reservations are required for breakfast or lunch. Dog Friendly

The Virgin’s beautiful garden and terrace are perfect to bring your dog. Simply walk around the building (left of the Virgin entrance) to get to the terrace. Don’t forget for some of your party to go inside and request a table.
