Budburst Food & Wine Festival – Macedon Ranges
2022 is the year where all good festivals return after being put on hold by COVID, and Macedon Ranges’ Budburst Food & Wine Festival is no exception. Budburst Food & Wine is organised by the Macedon Ranges Vignerons Association and gives festival goers the ability to explore the vineyards and produce of the Macedon Ranges. From Woodend to Daylesford and from Kyneton to Launcefield, explore the best the Macedon Ranges has on offer.
Budburst Festival will take place on the weekend of the 19th and 20th of November 2022 with a new addition of a Budburst Bloom opening night on the 18th of November 2022.
Budburst Blooms (Opening Night)
For the first time the festival now includes an opening night on Friday the 18th of Novenber. Budburst Blooms is set to be a great festival opener in one of three festival hubs at Piper Street Wine Company in Kyneton, The Lancefield Lodge in Lancefield or at the Victoria Hotel & bottle shop in Woodend. Meet wine wakers, taste local wines that are off the beaten track and sample some of the local delights the Macedon Ranges has on offer.
Main Festival Information
During the two main days of festival, over 30 winemakers are opening their doors for wine tasting, combined with live music, locally produced food and art exhibitions. All wineries are open from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, and two festival hubs have been established to show off smaller winemakers that don’t have a dedicated cellar door. You can self drive between the wineries and curate your own tour (but be careful and don’t drink-drive), or you can buy an additional ticket for the Hoppa Bus, touring two dedicated routes visiting all wineries.
Festival Hubs
The festival hubs will be open at The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Trentham and the Kyneton Hotel in Kyneton. This is your chance to taste wine from smaller vineyards and wine enthusiast that you don’t normally get to try. This includes: Athletes of Wine, Cold Acre from the Macedon Ranges, Lord Malmsbury Vineyard, MetCalfe Valley Wines, North Wine, Northern Hope Winery, Pegeric Wines, local favourite Shadowfax wines and ZigZag winery from the Kyneton/Drummond area.
